With their fan bases getting antsy and both needing two wins to even think about playing in a bowl game, California and Oregon State meet Saturday night in hopes of righting downward turns. The Beavers (4-3, 1-3) are the first of four opponents left on Cal's schedule, followed by USC in Los Angeles and Stanford and BYU at home. ''I'd like to win all four of them, that's the thing,'' Cal quarterback Jared Goff said. It's a one week at a time thing and at the end of the year you're rewarded for how many games you win.'' Goff is coming off his school-record breaking 11th game with more than 300 yards passing - a 59-41 loss at Levi's Stadium to No. 5 Oregon.Yahoo Sports - NCAA Football - Oregon St. Beavers News

The Cardinal have had the Ducks' number recently, beating them on the way to the Pac-12 Championship and Rose Bowl each of the past two seasons. Oregon has reason to hope this is the year its Cardinal luck will change, entering the game 7-1 while Stanford has already lost three games. The Ducks like to play fast, but have had trouble with the Cardinal's physical defense. Oregon enters the game fifth nationally, scoring 45.5 points per game, and Stanford is second defensively, allowing 12.5 per game.Yahoo Sports - NCAA Football - Oregon St. Beavers News

Kevin Hogan threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, Ty Montgomery returned a punt for a score and Stanford's sporadic offense busted out of its slump in a 38-14 rout of Oregon State on Saturday. The Cardinal (5-3, 3-2 Pacific 12) controlled the game from start to finish, showing more diverse looks that they have all season - just like coach David Shaw had promised after a perplexing 26-10 loss at Arizona State last week took Stanford out of The Associated Press poll for the first time in four years. Stanford still had its share of mistakes: Hogan tossed two interceptions, Ben Rhyne had a punt blocked and Jordan Williamson made one of two short field goals. Stanford plays at No. 6 Oregon on Nov. 1, and the winner will move into first place in the league's North Division.Yahoo Sports - NCAA Football - Oregon St. Beavers News

Oregon State and Stanford have been throwbacks in the Pac-12 the past few years. Heck, they might be the only two teams in the up-tempo conference that still huddle before most plays. The two-time defending Pac-12 champion Cardinal (4-3, 2-2) fell out of The Associated Press poll for the first time in four years after losing 26-10 at Arizona State last week. The Beavers (4-2, 1-2) have dropped two of their first three conference games and the most difficult portion of their schedule is still in front of them.Yahoo Sports - NCAA Football - Oregon St. Beavers News

Here's what to look for: GAME OF THE WEEK: No. 20 Southern California at No. 19 Utah. USC is led by quarterback Cody Kessler, who threw for a conference-record seven touchdown passes against Colorado last week, and running back Javorius Allen, the conference's leader in rushing and all-purpose yards. No. 14 Arizona State faces Washington in the other big game of the week. The Cougars lead the nation in passing with 490 yards per game behind Connor Halliday, who broke the all-time single-game record by throwing for 734 yards against California two weeks ago.Yahoo Sports - NCAA Football - Oregon St. Beavers News
